If the game is good enough, I try to get my Brother and/or Uncle to play with me, and sometimes they do. So, yes...again...The game just has to be good enough, lol.
It's an interesting point. A game that supports two players almost always makes it more enjoyable (unless there's something seriously wrong with it). However, I'm wondering how many people would take advantage of it, considering that nobody I know would give a homebrew game a second glance. Well...there was someone at college I knew who - shock - took an interest in Sonic DIY. But that's it. There was another guy many years ago, but I think he lost faith after seeing several crap KnP games from me =P (those were the 'learning' days, heh)
As long as it's not a GTA San Andreas kind of two-player:
"You wanna play GTA with me?"
"Okay"
"Right, I'll just find the icon"
"Alright then, I'll wait"
"Right, still looking for the icon"
"Okay then"
"Should find it soon"
"Okay, still waiting"
"Aww, fuck this, let's play Tekken instead"
Who the fuck thought of the crap 2-player GTA:SA thing?
Anyway, I never really thought PC 2-player games worked with one PC, except for the Worms games.
2 Player games on the PC arent bad as long as its only 2 players (me & my friends have gotten used to using our keys (except when they advance of the fact that they have a shift & ctrl button on there side too ), but its alot easyer to play 2+ players with controllers. After I got 2 controllers for my PC, I find me & my friends playing alot more 2 player games on the PC, but that still doesnt exclude the fact that we spend 90% of the time playing Super Smash Brothers Melee (old, but very fun multiplayer).
I almost always play 2 player when I have the chance. Too bad there just aren't many games I wouldn't be ashamed to play with someone else.
Snowbrawl co-op & Siege were the best. Better than many commercial games in terms of multiplayerability..
