Uh yeh getting a little frustrated.
I've searched tons of articles here and everywhere - and I actually now know how to use MooClick. Only thing that none of these articles have described is how to make it so that a player can host a server on their PC/IP and other people can join.

I've tried tons of conditions like "host server" .etc but it won't work and I don't really know what order to do it all in. I know it's possible - all the articles say it's possible, but don't say how to do it. It's the only thing thats bugging me, as I cannot use a dedicated server.

Uh cheers.

Have you checked your firewall settings are not conflicing with it? Try opening up the correct port on your firewall.

Ask Kingson, I'm sure he'd share some knowledge.

I'm confused by your confusion. Do you have the MOS running? If not, you can get it here: http://3ee.com/moo/files/mos2_4.zip
Run it. Then have your application connect to your IP. Then you can sign onto channels and do all that other fun stuff. I'm not sure if that answers your question.

No, he's talking about using the MooAPI to make a server program. The MooAPI is capable of making a server, ala quake/Seek and dread/countless other games. It's just remarkably easier for the user to just have to click on a host button, instead of having to run Mos. And with a bit of php/sql you can make a handy little server list.

Yeh that's what I want to do.
I know that I need to use the "Host" event I just don't know how I'm meant to use it, if you know what I mean..

And it's definately not my firewall which is the problem, because I can host games fine on SND.

You should just use the host action with the ip of "localhost" for testing it with yourself. If you want to test it with other people, go to www.whatismyip.com and copy & paste your ip from there.

Check those tutorials aswell, they were very helpful to me when I was starting to learn the mooapi.

Here, http://www.geocities.com/beeb100/MooHost.zip

You will need to change the IP you connect to in the "Events editor" but that should be all. In the program it tells you some ways to find your IP but here are a few, www.ipchicken.com or like Andy said, " www.whatismyip.com ".

Hope that helps.

Shalom

I already have a PHP page which retrieves my IP using string parser - thanks for the example and help guys, I'll try it out now

EDIT: The example works, but not with my remote IP, just my LAN one. Weird
