greets.
If I paste an image with black background into a backdrop/active, the black becomes less dark and with some red low saturation.
I tried to set-up the real black with the MMF palette: but the selected pure black become the transparent colour.
I now experienced that alpha channel objects can display a real black,(import a png in there) but make all backgrounds in alpha channel objects could be painful to manage for wichever computer, overall when the scrolling moves.
How I can obtain the real black with the animation editor?

Phizzy you don't get it. MM, this same happened to me once. I fixed it by creating an external bmp file that contained a black pic. and then used active picture object to paint the black. but, that solution, i think isn't better than the alpha channel style.
P.S. sorry for my mangled english.

" 0,0,0 is used for transparency. 1,0,0 would be fine, it's not noticably different. Stop complaining."
So stop complaining.

Its a noticable difference when your PC monider is set rather bright or your using a flatscreen. I know I had this exact problem with Diamond 4, when I used black backgrounds & black squares around the Diamonds. It looked really dumb on other computers that had a higher brightness.

with alpha channel objects?
Well, you can import png files: they can display the pure black

This seems an incredibly picky reason to complicate your programs, but hey that's your choice. I've noticed the difference but don't find it too much of a paint. The only times I want pure black are times when I *don't* need transparency. So all you have to do is turn 'transparent colour' off.

I'm not sure if this is what your trying to say Phizzy, but this is how I am getting it. Insted of using a black for the frame background, just keep it white & add a black backdrop. This way the black you are using is the same exact black you are using in your objects that you want to blend in the background. Depending if this is what Phizzy was trying to say, I'm sure it would work perfectly though I havent tested it. If this is how ever what Phizzy was going for, I dont take credit for this idea, because its Phizzy that jogged the idea into my head.
