You should keep an offline copy of everything you have online.
For example, for any website I run, I keep all the files offline and do modifications and updates on disk. I upload from disk to server to commit changes. If the server then dies, I've got all my files ready to upload to a new server.

It's pretty hard not to, unless you seek out and delete stuff you've uploaded... but why would you do that?

I already keep my PC on 24/7, so I just turned my PC into a web server. Never need to worry about it ever going down unless I have something to do with it.

Of course I still have everything somewhere on my comp, but it would just be annoying to have to find everthing, make sure it's the right version, then upload all of the almost 50 megs of it.
