been messing about with the platform object in mmf - just wondered can you pratt about with the coding within the object itself somehow or has it been locked somehow by the author?

The code for the extension is written in the same language as MMF itself, which is why extensions are so much more powerful than the stuff you could do in the event editor.
So you can't really change the platform object, no.
