i usually use custom movements, Ive never bothered using the built in 8 direction movement before but recently read a post and someone said its not buggy, so i decided to try, i cant make collision work, i usually use
Repeat while UP is pressed
(Negate) UP COLLISION is overlapping background
Set X to X player -2.........etc,
but you cant use this with the built in, whats a decent way to make decent collision for the built in movement?

I think
Object collides with backdrop
---Object: Stop movement
is supposed to work.
8 directional movement is the least buggy of the default movements, but it's also the simplest custom movement to make. For the sake of flexibility, a custom movement is still better.

ill take your word for it, im pissed off with it already. the code you just wrote, i tried that already and it just kinda slows down the movement, not stop it, its strange.
Do you think a tile movement or free roam is better for a fast paced, action RPG?
Im kinda thinking the free roam maybe better
I have to stop answering my own questions!
