How can we set the value of a counter to the movement speed of an object?

in the events for the counter, go to "set counter"

under edit, go to "retrieve data from an object", click on object you want speed of, select "movement" , then "Speed"

Have you tried it? It sets the counter, to the speed of the movement that it retrieved from the object.

Unless when he asked the question, it was a little weird worded & he actually ment, how to make a counter have a number, & have another object feed off that number for its speed. It can go both ways, either have a counter say 30 because an object is moving 30, or have the object read the counter that says 30, & start moving 30. If thats the case, try this:

Set the counter to the value you want (ex: 30), then make the event:
Set speed of object to the value of the counter.

Otherwise, if thats not what you ment, just fallow up with 'Pixeltheif's method, it is correct.
