It was a crap topic anyway but i was bored. I read through and decided to make a few posts. Of course nobody on the internet will back down no matter how outrageously offensive they are being.

In short: yes, you are overreacting. I learnt long ago that there's no point arguing about this sort of stuff on the web. Intelligent debate, hey, that's fine, and I used to enjoy many a mass debate (ahaha) with Paul Jeffries et al on these boards. But inane racist, sexist or homophobic comments - just ignore them. Don't try and be righteous on a forum as it's just a complete waste of time.
