I use PowerDVD, but I noticed it can't detect my surround system (it keeps using 2 boxes settings somehow). It plays DVDs very professional anyway.

I know some VERY good FREEWARE DVD players, but unfortunately, they are Linux only (at least, one of them). Sorry.

i use powerdvd and it's pretty good. You can take snapshots of the dvd as it plays. Pretty cool. Other than that it's fairly bog standard.

Streaming is in fashion now. DVD playing applications are such a faux-pas.

In my case, I havent had time to install a DVD player program to my PC, so I just use Windows Media Player 10 for now, it works fine for me.

Windows Mediaplayer 10 is just fine for DVD. I use Intervideo/WinDVD 6.0 pro. You get all the "bells & whistles" with this one. You can customize your skin, sound, Sychronize the audio & video, time stretch, etc, etc. If you take your DVD watching seriously this one is it.
