I downloaded a demo of a shooter called Area 51 a while ago. The problem is that the installer doesn't run. So now there is a 700mb exe file lying around my computer and no way to get rid of it. If I double click it, the computer crashes. If I right click it, it crashes. If I attempt to delete the folder in which it is located, a message pops saying that the exe is being used by other application. If I virus check the file, it also crashes. Any ideas of what I could do?

Wow. It worked, you rock. And, out of curiosity, do you have any idea why it was acting that way?

That would work, but if your not used to using anything else but Windows, booting in safe mode might also help, expecially if it keeps saying that the exe is being used by another application. Safe mode avoids running anything at the start of Windows, that isnt needed to keep Windows stable, this includes the internet. Also, if you cant right click on the file, even in safe mode. Just try using the Delete key after you select it.

It could have been corrupted on disk into some kind of wierdness. Explorer sometimes likes to grab onto a file and not let you delete it, too. Could have been a couple of things.
