Hey guys i was trying to capture a video for some in-game click footage. I tried using the snagit software but it seems a bit choppy when the screen is scrolling and there is to much action. Is there any other software out there that works a bit better?

Fraps is quite a good one, especially designed for games. In the end though, it all depends on your PC specs. You can try reducing the resolution size and quality of the movie with fraps however, which helps it run smoother.
I know that Camtasia Studio 3 doesn’t do that well on 3D things, but if you adjust the settings right, 2D games will run pretty smoothly. You'll get the best appearance if you set everything to run as smooth as possible rather then as fast as possible, that way even though its hell to play the game while its recording, when you’re finished it will come out nicely. Fraps is a nice program, but I can never seem to get it to run smoothly on 3D games like Unreal Tournament 2004.
I use Camstudio - you have to pay for it but it's definately worth it. You can save as different file types, and plus it can record sound so yeh tis a good choice I think and definately worth the money.
