what do i need to start a RTS game in MMF? like age of empires, zootycoon and other stuff like that?

is the pathfinding object helpful for finding paths in a isometric engine? whats the better way to adjust layer positions in isometric objects? how can i use the layer object to do that? can it sort ALL active objects by their Y axis position?

Once you can accomplish Path Finding, the next challenge is well done AI, after that you need to come up with very original ideas as to set your RTS from all the other RTS that people might much rather play. Building a RTS alone, shouldn’t be to hard after you get around path finding, but unlike most game types you might make in MMF, it will require a great deal of planning ahead of time, only because you need to make all the pieces fit together. The only way you are going to do that is by making sure that what you are building now will fit with what you build later, with little change.

RTS games could probably be considered the most difficult of games to make in MMF. If you're looking to include the same kind of detail as in games like AOE, I suggest you use extensions such as the Isometric Grid Object 2, the layer object, the pathfinding object, the minimap object and gather as many articles as you can related to terms like "Isometric", "AI", "RTS", "Map Editor" etc.

Good luck, not many devs came out alive after one of these!
