Hi there,

Just joined up. I have programmed a game in TGF (i find it easier), put in the high score table and programming. That is working when i play the game using TGF.

But, I need to load the .gam file up into MMF and build the stand alone from there, so it runs at a decent speed maximised.
However when I do this, the high score stuff doesn't work in MMF. Namely, the game won't ask for the players name even if they have a high score.

Has anyone encountered problems like this? Can anyone help?

The same problem was discussed quite recently. Search the topic list or use DC search.

Hey,

I searched the forum for topics but couldn't find what I needed.

On one topic one chap seemed to offer examples of .INI files working a high score (that was a 2004 topic though and his site, www.fpp-games.com is not there anymore). I don't mind that if it is explained more clearly than the example on the second multiamedia fusion disk... but I would like to just use the damn highscore object!

Please guys some more help for this newbie to the forum is pleaded for.

(DaVince: Perhaps you could link me to the topic you mean?)

Juts noticed it wasn't recent, but just resurrected. This should help a bit though, and if it doesn't, remove the hiscore object and insert a new one.

Thanks Da Vince. It was helpful. I followed aXel (OHW)'s little explanation here of how to get around the MMF hi score bug.

"you need:
-1 edit object (name entry)
-1 button (submit)
-1 hi-score object

E:
-upon pressing button
A:
-hi-score: insert a hiscore: (score value=score Player1)(player name=edit object text)
-destroy edit object
-destroy button

***new line***

E:
-score is less than: hiscore value 10 (or whatever is the last place)
A:
-destroy edit object
-destroy button"

I tried this and it's worked! Hooray! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Da Vince.
