Lets make this thread a showcase of games with a very good level design so we can compare them and learn from them.
Post screenshots, maps or just comments about commercial and non commercial games.
Commerical: Locoroco for the PSP has some amazing levels, the physics engines are so cool Also, Metroid prime Hunters has some interesting levels. Using the ball-morph mode to reach secret areas etc. I also have a Sonic game for GBA that has a cool musical level thing that I always remember.
Non-Commercial: I pretty much like Zerotau's games Skydragon, crazy though he may seem, can also design some pretty interesting levels
Skydragon is a kliker on this site- Hes a good programmer although he wont admit to it! My avatar is secret! ...I think lol

Yoshi's Island has the best 2D level design. This is not up for debate. 60 long-ass levels each with one or more unique gimmick and a great scoring system.
I'd say the first three Sonic the hedgehog games are pretty good with level design. but that fact the game engine allows a lot of high speed freedom helps the level designer.
i'm sure there is a website with level maps somewhere,
I need to get sonic rush, Its meant to be pretty cool I remember seeing a trailer of sonic for the GBA where he ran through some cool spirals and up the side of some walls, lol I bought it for these features
ive got sonic rush. But you know that already Adam?
It's alright since it's mimmicking the 2d sonic games to an extent. Go really fast and build up a rush metre to go faster.
But it's bogged down by tons of bottomless pits
the level design isn't so good for a sonic game because you need to replay levels and learn the layout for various things. Like avoiding bottomless pits or enemy layouts.
I like Castlevania symphony of the night's level design. You never really knew if you were headed the right way but eventually you went the right way anyway.
