Because thats what i'm on right now. I really like it!
I'm in my second year at manchester metropolitan university (in england) and im having lots of fun with it! Last year we made pong and space invaders using Blitz3d and we made a text game.
This year we'll be experimenting with 3d graphics too!
I went to go on one, looked around and thought "wow this looks so shit" Most of the course was learning flash and web-site design, then in the final year you actually made a game. Im so glad I took Animation, its fun. Most of the people that took the games-design course quit it in the first year We also have a cool new tutor this year from Mexico and he is called Gustavo, how cool
I took game design (BSc) at Huddersfield for a day. Very hyped up course and I did loads of research on it but didn't return after my first day. Went Manchester Met instead. Moved into the video field instead keeping game making well and truly a hobby.
@Jimmi - I hear ya on that one man, I'm probably going to keep game making as a hobby too. Right now I'm looking into journalism (obviously, I'd like to do game journalism).
I was going to do a game design course postgraduate to waste some time, but somehow my life got in the way. I think I know all I really need to having taken a more general four year computer science course.
Fine Garbage since 2003.

I'm studying IT, several parts of it, and we are going to make a game for mobile phones this year. However, the gaming course can be joined in the third or fourth year, and I'm still in my first year. I'm probably gonna follow it though.
