Just experimenting with using 3d objects in games, I only just started.
I've just got a couple of i'm thinking simple questions that I would greatly appreciate being answered.
I'm using a program called 'scetch up' to design basic 3D objects such as ships and planes. For one is this a suitible program, it can export 3ds and many other formats like OBJ, XSI and VRML.
Another question- how do i stop my object automatically rotating according to its x,y postition on the playfield.
One more thing is i'd like to know why my object changes to red, although i've already textured it in many colours.
If you could answer any of these that would be really helpful
I've used a couple 3D modeling programs before, but have never tryed to transfer a 3D object to another program, as I think your trying to do.
Are you making a 3D object and making a flat 2D image from it, then making it an object in another program? Or actually making a game with a full 3D feild?
I'm just importing a fully 3d object into the MMF 3d object editor. I first save the model i designed into a certain file format, and then open it in MMF
Especially that.

I think the MMF 3D object is quite broken, but as far as I know, it's the only way (apart from prerendering) to get a 3D model in MMF.
EDIT: Well, perhaps the OpenGL X object... Not sure.
