It's based on moho, which I have. IT's a very good program. I don't know how different anime studio is, but you can get into the web archive and download the moho trial, and try that. It's very good.
The bones system does sound pretty damn sweet. Like what we do in 3D, but 2D instead. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the program, but without paying a stupid amount for it.
Actually, it has some cool 3D too. Look at thi NES-thing I made; done in moho by rotating 2D layers in 3D space. It exports to flash, and works perfectly!
i have to admit this program DOES look interesting. ive heard about it before but i could never be arsed to look what exactly it is. the name ANIME STUDIO makes it sound REALLY crap but it doesn't seem like it is crap. it seems to be kind of like flash for cheaters but WHATEVER the result matters and nobody will ask you "how did you do this?" because it doesnt matter HOW you got there. im going to try out the demo
