this is a rather usefull link ive had for a while.
you can put the url of a video from many different sites, including youtube and google video and it downloads them!
usually the format is flv so you might want to use the awseome free program 'cinema forge' to convert them to avi or mpegs

It depends on what format the person uploads it in. For example, http://youtube.com/watch?v=evKmYcJ0a9E, LineRider Xtremage (yay for LICS music) is in avi format.

Well I'll be darned, I guess they are all converted to FLV. Explains the long 4 hour wait after a video is submitted 0_o

I use either Riva Encoder or Videora iPod Converter to get them into nicely readable formats (the latter doesn't say that it supports FLV, but it does.)
