Nahmber Whan [number one]:
I have this one column of missing pixels. I think it's a broken wire or trace, but how would I really fix this? I don't want to do any surface-mount soldering; it's hell.
Nahmber Teuw [number two]:
I really want to backlight (or somehow light it without having a big external thing) it. I'm thinking up placing two white LED's at the top, but, would this look good? Where should I wire them for voltage? How much would this lower the battery life?
I could go with the afterburner-style method, get some AR film, put it on the LCD, and maybe chop up an afterburner from the GBA, but... hmm. I dunno.
Accent of the working class folks that originated in East London. As for the backlighting, you could use white led's and wire them to a 5V point on the GB mobo. Don't know if it would work though, because I don't think the GB's LCD is transperant. Don't quote me on that though...
The GBA SP uses white LEDs just above the edges of the LCD pane for frontlighting. That should work. I'm looking at a transparent original GB here and there's a fair bit of clearance between the case and the display.
