Oh mate stay away. My first Tormishire trailer ended up on there and half were good, half were bad comments (last time I checked it got a 7 rating). It was a bit of a shock to see the indie scene like what they see, then the non-indie guys raping it.
Yeah, I agree. In life I mostly take things WAY too personally (see some of my replies to my first "real" click game Captain of the Guard lol), but for whatever reason this hasn't bothered me as much.
The one that said "Hi mom I just graduated dev school and here's my first game!" and "graphics drawn by a 5-year old" were the best lol..
I like it if only for the awesome screenshot I got of Hasslevania nestled between Call of Duty 4, Resident Evil 5, and Metal Gear Solid 4! That was worth it, IMO!

I'm actually a regular visitor on GameTrailers
Not a good idea to post Klik games there - it's just full of fanboys who'll say it's nothing like Castlevania and that it disrespects the Castlevania name or something
A rating is just a number. But if gametrailers gets anyone interested in your game, no matter how many morons slag it off then it will be worth it. Someone could see your game and be inspired to get into making games themself, even.
It's funny, because I know a guy who is the very embodiment of this typical 13 year old gametrailers addict. If you showed him some work you'd done, say a photoshop edit picture, he would say something like "that's crap it looks like it is drawn in paint" and then he would go on and on elaborately about it for the next 10 minutes. He recently grew out of that phase somewhat when he realised that many people did not like him because of it. He's an alright guy really (in a weird sort of way), but he just found it very difficult to resist being obnoxious to everyone. Sometimes you really wanted to hit him.

JC Denton: "Sticks and stones..."
Yeah, I would rather have a couple of people love it then more who just thought it was passable and a time killer. If GT helps do this, it's all good afterall. Thanks Ben

Exactly. It's exposure. The people who don't like will post a crappy comment and that's that. The people who do like it might tell other folk and start a little publicity cycle. The more of these sites (Indygamer, GT et al) the more chance you've got of it getting to something mega-awesome like IGN or Gamespy.
One thing I thought was cool though is that they felt the need to post anything at all. Even some of the pro, 50K+ downloaded trailers only had like 10 comments. I'm going to check there now, in fact lol..
