Hey guys, I'm using a simple parallax background system box but would like to know if it's possible to animate it?

I want to make stars that shine, for example, and don't want to use a huge active object set behind everything else. Is it possible?

Thank you!

I did it by placing the different frames of the animation under each other in the box and let the animation play by changing the Y position of the box all the time.

Are background system boxes any more efficient than Active objects?

It might be better to use active objects because
1. you will be redrawing the entier screen anyway
2. you could then turn off "save background" on all actives to increase speed.
(I'm not sure if the performance boost would overcome the loss)

You're forgetting the most important: they can go behind backdrops

Yeah, that's the most important thing since all of my bricks, walls, and floors are backdrops themselves.

Del has MMF 1.5 Ricky. Hayo's way is probably best, that or toggling visibility.

There is a layer object for mmf1.5.

although it would be simpler to use background system boxes.
