So I was diagnosed with anxiety a few days back and took some time off the internets. Does anyone else suffer from it? Gotta say once the Doc told me it was just my mind doing all this and that as soon as the problem was located and fixed (unusual pain) that it would all flow away.

Anxiety attacks are shit. I had them every moment of the day and couldn't even sleep for a few nights. Kept getting stupid thoughts and dreams like cancelling Tormi since it's taking too much time really feels like your going crazy or dying. And its just the nerves and your messed up head controlling everything like a puppet without you knowing. Had my first meal in a few days just after I got my clean bill of health. My body was just running on empty which further stresses the ol thing out.

They're not too common, about 15% of the US adult population has had them at some point. Some unlucky sods get them for years. The worst bit is the mornings when you roll right into an attack, so you just get scared of going to sleep. Urgh. Not a good thing at all!

That really sucks James, hope you are ok now. So will you get medication for it now, how does that work?

It's a bit common so you might have it. Insomnia is a symptom of anxiety, but I've still had anxiety and slept like a baby. Or is it tree. Whichever means I slept loads.

I <3 doctors. I'd be one if not for the blood. Can't stand that stuff even after seeing some corpses on display.

While we're on the topic I think I've got sleeping problems - I literally can't sleep before 1am even if I try and even then it takes be forever to fall asleep.

I had something like that too! Couldn't sleep before 4am. Even if I did manage to sleep I wouldn't wake up until 11am. Really odd. This whole anxiety episode thing has thrown my clock to bed at midnight, up at 7.
Have you tried doing a massive exercise stint? Something to drain your body so you can reset the sleeping clock.

Rugby season's starting now so that might help me get back into regular sleep patterns I guess... I'm kinda undecided as to whether I even want to do it though, I like exercise but not team sports >_<.

I've been doing some stuff recently actually, so I'll just see how it goes

I'm almost permanently anxious in public. Not extremely like how you described, though.

Hey, glad you're okay now. What brings on an anxiety attack? My first guess is, obviously, too much stress, but you always seem like such a chilled out guy.

Health anxiety, had a really bad and not-so-common RSI hit me one day. I thought back to a TV show and thought I had something much worse; enter first attack
I'm not totally out of it either. Got a GP appointment in 7 hours and I haven't slept yet. 2 hours of trying too! Gah!
