So come on then, anyone got any thoughts on this mobile klik gaming thing (as mentioned on the news page today)? If this is possible, this is a huuuuuuuuge new potential area us klik authors can tap into - pretty exciting eh?

it's probably done using a java emulator, and converting the mmf/tgf file into a java file.

or maybe just with converting the mmf/tgf into java

So... wouldn't there be lots of lag on a phone?

Yeah I'm suspicious of how powerful it could possibly be on a phone, java runtime for mobiles could open up a lot of business opportunities for MMF devs though. Main issue with them is the filesize compared to most mobile games.

actually since a lot of games for mobile phones are really crap this is a great opportunity.

just not yet, clickteam haven't finished adding java support yet.

Hope they do let us have a good stab at it with some useful extensions, it is quite exciting! Imagine the endless possibilities in terms of distribution?

Even though it will probably be quite slow and limited (at first), this is very interesting. I've always thought that Java runtime has bigger potential than HWA out of these two major enhancements. Click products are about making small games, and mobile phones are a platform for simple games, so it's a perfect marriage.

Also for Clickteam, this is a good way to sell more copies of MMF2 Developer before starting to put real effort to v3.0.

Is there maybe a way to convert everything and anything into 1's and 0's then convert the 1's and 0's into whatever language desired ?

Could there be conversion programs out there to do such a thing ? ... if so, then we could make games for DS, Gameboy color, Xbox's, PS2, PS3 .. well, anything really.

I doubt it though, mainly because there would probably be alot of issues concerning high end to low end programming, but it would be kewl if it's even possible.

Err, no it doesn't work quite like that. You can decompile things sometimes but not into a real language. The best hope for those platforms is basically Java support - which is pretty unlikely at this point (especially for old consoles).

Nintendo DS has homebrew, where you can make and run java app's. So basicly you can play mmf2 games with ds also. Only thing you ned is ds, http://www.modpiiri.com/?sivu=lisatieto&id=593&ak=1&cid=6 : This modchip and java app http://blog.davr.org/2007/08/08/java-for-nds/ . The only problem is that the java app is not finished and it is on beta.

There is also linux on ds, so basicly it could be possible to play mmf games if they work on linux. Only question is I don't know do they work!
