So for my birthday, which is in a couple of days im getting a new computer
But i dont know which one to get
I need a pretty powerful one so i can have all my gaming urges contented.
But it needs to be in the $000-$600 (with tax (8.25%))

this is the one i am looking at right now
it seems to be Very powerful (Quad Core ) I am aware that its over 600.
Has anyone ever had a problem with gateway or amd powered PC's.
Please i would like to know.

This is the computer I'm running, it's got AMD and I've had no problems. However, never had a Gateway pc.

If you're well versed in mild computer names and slot types, I'm sure you could buy a relatively inexpensive eMachines, then add a videocard and replace the processor. Those are generally the only two major issues with most name brand computers.

Just make sure it's got an Intel CPU and you'll be fine if you can afford it go for the quadcore versions. Intel has a new quadcore chip coming out next month so you're best waiting till then since current chips will drop in price.
