Alright, so I decided to give the 30 day trial for Adobe Photoshop CS4 and figured I'd check out the new 3D feature. Took me less then a second to figure I could import the 3D gem I made in 3DS Max and see what I could do with it. Then I took it a step farther and made the bars in the background from 3D files.

Tell me what you think.

Look alright.

What does it exactly do? Load a 3d mesh and allow you to rotate it within photoshop?

3D stuff has been in since CS3. And to a limited extent, CS2.

Looks pretty cool, though. What other kinds of formats can it load? Do models require textures?

I know it supports 3DS files and as far as textures go, they don't require them. In fact, you can add them and edit them right on the 3D model or double click the texture option and it'll open a second file tab which you can edit, save, and it'll update the 3D model.
