What do people think is the best way to learn how to get better at doing graphics? Online tutorials, studying other people's work, or just practicing???

Practicing.
What I did though...
I started off by looking at Pokemon sprites, and made my own.
Then after time made them different, and different, until I developed my own style.
Then I started to draw harder things, with my style, and just practice, practice practice.
I used to sit there for about 3 hours each day just pixeling.
My avatar is crap, haha I made it in about 10 minutes in MS paint, so don't compare that to my skillz yo!

But totally practicing, if you just blindly copy someone else work, you might make some nice looking stuff, but the problem is that your not getting any better.
Its like cheating in school, you might pass the test, but you don't learn anything from it.

Your just jealous that you're not as awesome as me.

I didn't really have anyone to watch... I just practiced and practiced.

I led a lonely first five years of clicking.

I first started scribbling... then made my own style... got some tips from some other clickers... and eventually developed my own more advanced style.

I'd read tutorials on what makes pixel art an art, then try to apply what I read to make original stuff. It worked, but I just lack the technique and patience to produce anything of quality.

lots of practice, looking at other ppl work is also very helpfull. But the main thing is that you make a lot of gfx.
Try to make as many, as fast as you can.
Doing sketches on paper is also very helpfull, try reading books about anatomy if you are to make ppl or animal. I mean don't read, just look and draw it.
And if you can, try to get a wacom tablet. It will definitevly help you out.
