What about the market place? I also notice that the guide seems a tad sluggish. I've the dashboard freeze up on me once, a friend of mine had his freeze up three times.
Some people have been having issues with lag, errors and connectivity (pretty much exactly the same as the problem you are having) - while other users have been perfectly fine.
It's probably just to do with the heavy network load or something - give it a few days and it'll probably be fixed.
Oh it's more than blatant. But each has their strengths. Wii's have less options and styles but much more facial customisation, you can't even set the positions of bits on the NXE. But the NXE has much more in the way of clothes and colours.
Analogue stick burping is such a pathetic idea though. There's the NXE looking much more quality filled than the blades menu... but the characters can burp. No MS. No.
I think MS are just trying to get a bit of the Wii's user base (which they need to do now considering the PS3 probably won't catch up to the 360 now). I think the NXE is a great idea to get more people from that particular market, and they even have a few new games coming which might attract the Wii userbase.
It's still not going to make me buy a 360, but I could probably see my sister or parents being more likely to buy one now (not just because of the NXE, but the new games and ad campaigns they're doing .etc)
This is the phase where the Wii is actually incredibly weak, despite its high standings right now; they have almost zero future potential from this point onward. There are no new blockbuster games in their queue, theres no continuations of the main franchises or innovative new ones, the bluray got adopted, and the graphics of the Wii start looking bad, especially when theres no games besides shovelware. The fact is, Nintendo went all-out on the earlygame, and now they've got nothing left up their sleeves. So if Microsoft keeps pulling steady, they can pull the carpet out from underneath the Wii; sure, we all already own Wii's, but how many games are we actually buying? Theres no Halo's or Gears of War or Fallout 3s or anything. Microsoft needs to quash the Wii as a fad, instead of letting it gain traction as a games console.
Yes, I agree that Nintendo REALLY needs to step on it in the AAA game development department. :| I like the wii, not just because it's the only console I bought. There are certainly awesome things that can be done on it. And really-- better graphics too. Nobody except maybe Nintendo has tapped its true power. Sure, it won't look anything like 360 stuff, but the games can certainly at least look good.
There are so many things I would do and games I would make if I were in Nintendo's shoes.
Yeah, I kind of noticed some games seemed a bit sluggish. I'm not sure though, it might just be because I'm comparing the NXE to what people said about Vista. I guess I'm just bias against it because of the avatars, but honestly, you get used to them, and the interface itself is rather pretty. The blades will always have a special place in my heart, but the NXE isn't bad.

And yes. Nintendo need to stop keeping their cards close to their chest. They're working on new Zelda and Mario games but that's all we know! Plus there's been no confirmation of the Wii's F-Zero game short of the Blue Falcon in Mario Kart. But personally I'm good with Brawl and Kart still

We need on Wii: Star Fox. Pikmin. REAL Animal Crossing. (though I've never played any of them) New Mario. New Zelda. Kid Icarus. New IP. Rockman DASH 3. Next Metroid series. Balding Overweight Man. Sly Cooper. Just more quality titles in general.
As long as they do a proper 2d Metroid on the DS first. The Primes were nice, but after 3 entries in a relatively short time frame; I'm kinda burned out on them. But I'm still aching for another 2d entry.
Thumbs up on the new Dashboard now that everything's running smoothly. I bought the Premium Halo 3 theme, I might also buy the Fable 2 theme. They both look very nice. Hows everyone else liking it?
