Maybe this isn't the right place, I dunno. Anyway, does anyone know of a good (free) video converter that can take FLV files and make them into AVIs?

Try any one of those, I use this one. http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-to-MP3-Converter.htm
It only converts to MPEG-4 or MP3, actually. Never mind then.

I use a tool called AudioVideotoExe. It can convert a RIDICULOUS amount of formats to a RIDICULOUS amount of formats. Very very handy, with batch conversions and everything. Just google it. I believe it is on download.com... and I trust their spyware tests, so... you should be good. Be sure to be using anti-spyware/adware/virus stuff anyway though.
