Holy Moocowbiscuits:

http://wii.ign.com/articles/941/941609p1.html

Nintendo promised that small developers could make Wiiware games, and then everyone was complaining that the process was too hard. By the looks of it, it isn't so bad after all...

I wonder what sort of programming experience is needed (e.g. language)... >_O

"with the promise it would allow small development teams with big ideas the opportunity to reach the mass market."

If there was ever a reason to learn a programming language, I'd say this comes close!

The bit where he said that scrapping high score facilities because it was unnecessary coding made me realise just how easy MMF makes game making for us.

They require that you have an office, and don't support bedroom coders; even the Pickford Bros weren't accepted now they've gone indie, and they've had a long history with Nintendo and the industry as a whole.

So if a couple of us rented an office in an old dead strip mall and saved enough money for a devkit and some middleware, we could make Wii games?

Actually, I had an email conversation with one of Nintendo's employees about this.

I want to make my own 16-bit videogame system. Anyone know anything about making a console?

Almost certainly, provided you meet the other criteria. Also, I'd take into consideration whether your game proposal treads on the toes of or resembles a Nintendo full-retail game; if it does, it may not be accepted, and deemed 'inappropriate'; there have been suspect cases, one in particular that I'm aware of, where devs have met all the criteria but have oddly still been refused, with a game that was just a bit too close to Battalion Wars.

I've got some leftover loos rolls and an empty washing up liquid bottle that might do the trick...

Well I don't know what a loos roll is but the bottle might be useful.

Oh heard of a loo. I figured it would be spelled lieu or leu or something. Didn't put 2 and 2 together. I thought maybe it was a tootsie roll or something.

Strangely I used a roll of toilet paper in my wii controller mockup:
