im looking for a pixel artist to help with this project:
http://www.create-games.com/project.asp?view=main&id=1477

the pixel artist will specifically be working with the character and zombie sprites. i can provide the source work of the current sprites if needed. the list is not very extensive and i will let you know which animations are needed. i am willing to have several people work on this rather than just one, so show me some of your work and well talk about what i can have you do.

also, if you have any information for me as far as places to find pixel artists, send me a mail.

http://pixeljoint.com/forum/ You can post help wanted things there. There are also countless other VGDev forums where you can post for help.

Believe it or not, you'll get the most response (for non-paid help) right here.

There's always a lot of demand for pixel artists, so you need to work very hard to convince them your project is worth spending time on - ie. that it won't be abandoned, and that it will be good when it's finished.

Unless you're offering a very substantial payment, then artists are going to be more motivated by the chance to help create a really great game, than by money. It always helps if you can show them some of your past work.

Your best bet is to keep working on the programming, and just use placeholder graphics for now. Once your game is much closer to completion (preferably having sorted everything except gfx & music) it will become a lot easier to get help with those.

well thats the big problem right there, this is my first project... but i figured as quick as this project has taken shape, would be proof enough that this is going to be a very good game, and it's already fun to play as is (i keep finding myself lost in the game when i should be testing, lol!)

The game is already ready to be posted as a demo, it just needs the sprites in order to not look goofy. I also need to add sound which shouldnt be that hard. Im also debating on wether or not to delve into the online scoreboard now for the demo, and keep it separate from the full version.

i would also be satisfied if the artist just wants to add on to my back outlined templates, and i can art them in from there no biggie, thats just the main issue i have tho is moving the sprites the right way so that it looks good, and i know that its my first game and all, but i really wouldnt feel that great about releasing something that looks ugly.

Ah, and that's another problem. A lot of people have been burned by helping others on their first work, because it eventually got abandoned and not worth the time. But you could always offer to give a demo to anyone who wants to help
