Alright folks, I know I'm not the only one who watched this show regularly. Still not sure what to make of the finale, especially when they said "all will be revealed" and they revealed approximately zilch. I dunno, it seemed like it was all rushed at the last second. They get the coordinates to this awesome planet from Anders in like 10 seconds. This awesome planet is exactly like Earth (Geography wise) except it's not Earth, but we'll call it Earth because the continental structure is EXACTLY THE FRAKKIN SAME as that planet we found earlier that had blown itself to hell.
I knew very well going into it that the finale could never live up to expectations (none of them ever do); but damn. It's like they slapped a bunch of stuff together, and didn't even wait to see what stuck. Ron Moore came right out on one of the specials and said "No one cares about the story, so we just focused on the characters." That's great Ron, but we DID care about the story. You can have great characters, but if you throw them in a crap story at the last minute; especially after you've said for 6 years that the story will have a satisfying end, you undercut what those characters mean. And that's exactly what happened. The only satisfying end was for Adama and the Prez. Everyone else had a slapdash ending in one of the worst deus ex machina plots I've seen in recent years.
It's such a shame that a good show like BSG had to end like that.

You're a bit confused there. The first earth they found was a different planet with a different structure. Then they found a 2nd habitable planet (Our planet) and named it after the destroyed one.
Aside from that, all the answers seemed to be GOD DID IT! Yeah, it was pretty disappointing. Especially Starbuck disappearing.

I know it was a different planet, but it had the same geological structure as "our" earth.

You definately said it had the same structure as the first earth, I'm not sure I remember that tbh.
