I'm planning on building a big mofo gaming/workstation PC in a few weeks and I'm planning on making the jump to Vista or Win7 buuuuut... The last I heard 64bit loses compatibility with some applications, but that was just hearsay. Does MMF2 work in 64bit, if so is there any performance increase?

Hardware wise I'm planning on new, big brand stuff that should come with 64bit drivers.

I'm guessing it would. Not entirley sure so I googled it. Found this...

It's not really saying much but if anything my guess is it'd work.

Edit: Whoops, wrong link.

Using it on 64 bit Windows7 without any issues. Should be the same for Vista

You'll be putting off your rig for a while then... installing a Beta with intentions bigger than testing it for fun isn't the greatest, since you can't switch to the full version without reinstalling.

Good call. I'll stick with my XP then, no point in buying another OS if I'm only going to use it until 7's out.

Vista has had many service packs so I guess it won't show up a problem. But Win7 is another case

I haven't had Vista crash on me yet. Once I disabled UAC and put in enough RAM, it gave me less trouble than XP. That's not to say there aren't little things that are annoying that XP did better, but it has always been more stable for me so far.

Except-- that darnded copying thing where moving files over a network takes forever/starts over and never finishes. :\
