Hi guys,
I KNOW this is my first post and I KNOW it's asking for help, which is probably ridiculously rude, but this is kind of an urgent and bizarre problem that I'm hoping I can get sorted quickly. It's standing in the way of me completing my game, which was when I planned to become a properly active member of TDC.
Anyway...
This is my first project. I'm making a platformer in Multimedia Fusion 2. I've got my static engine sorted, got my baddies, level objects (spikes, springs, whatnot), even music. Everything's going absolutely fine and dandy and so far there's been no problem I can't fix. The coding and events are probably woefully unefficient, but for the most part, they work, so that'll do. Everything was going great, up until now.
I've got your standard event for 'death', where the player gets hit, an animation and sound plays, it gets destroyed and the frame restarts with one less life. Hopefully, that sounds pretty normal, right?
Problem is, on my two most previous levels, when the frame restarts, the level is all completely messed up. Bits of platform move around, enemies aren't where they're supposed to be and the player usually falls straight through the floor when you try and move.
If you can manage to make the screen scroll a bit and then go BACK, the problem's fixed itself. But I can't very well put a disclaimer saying "If it breaks, try moving about a bit until it looks right", can I?
I've tried deleting any events that I thought might be causing a problem, all the way down to just having the platform engine, a platform and something to kill the player, but it's still happening.
It only happens on my two most recent levels, with the one done before that being absolutely fine.
Ordinarily, I'd try and sort it out (Well, I HAVE), but this seems like a pretty huge problem, so I could do with some help.
Thanks.

Erm... Nevermind! I've managed to fix it. Well, I haven't, but I've found a workaround.
I've realised the only levels that are breaking are the ones that don't have to scroll before you might possibly die.
Any level where you can die before the screen's had chance to scroll is broken.
No idea why, no idea how to fix it, but I can incorporate it into my level design just to keep things moving along.
I know I didn't give you guys chance to actually help, but erm, thanks anyway.

Since you've apparently fixed it, I'm not going to bother reading the post.
However, I did want to stop by to welcome you to TDC! Glad to have another member!
