Hello there!

-Reason-
Some of you know that I've been working on a little game for some time now. Yet, as can be seen in my recent avatar, my grahphics area is a little low. I've been offered this help on another site I visit often. Yet because they use something like AIM or some other form of Instant messaging, I either have mistakenly ignored them or politely turned them down. However I see best that I work better(?) when I get some kind of 1 on 1 so I thought it wouldn't hurt. I've also been hesitant to ask because the internet is so iffy and you never know if or when or what have you about whatever it is your trying to find out. I've also been trying to figure stuff out on my own. Which turns out hasn't been a good ideal! But since we have a nice little chat room I figured we could use that and attempt to work from there. So, here we go!

--Your position--
First let's get all the dirty thoughts out of the way. The game is open source. Meaning this is unpaid work. You will (should the game be completed) however be in the top of the credit list. If your a coder you will also have access to the source and free to change any aspect of it and use it for something else. (The source can be found on here any ways, I think I posted about it on the project page.) You will also be given full access to any music I happen to squeak together for your own projects.

-Work flow-
I will set a specific time on when to meet. I will be there. I will post a piece or two and you will tell me what needs to be done with it. If you don't mind, then I would like to ask if you could do some skeletons, outlines(for reference), help me look for references, perhaps if your feeling generous maybe an edit or two. (By skeleton I mean stick figure of wherever you think I'm going wrong with a piece and correct it that way.)

-Ethics-
I will never ever follow or take an edit/concept of yours for me to look at pixel by pixel. That's ripping 100%.

-Availability-
I live in the united states, in the state of Illinois. I also have a fast food job which takes up a lot of my daily time. As a result, I'm on the internet at odd even late hours. As stated before, I will attempt to pm you before the schedule date so as to make sure your available. If you don't show up, I will wait a few minutes. If not, I will attempt to contact you and try to schedule a better time. We will, as stated, be using the chat room provided by this site for communication. I will also pm you on here(if your here) or by email for when I would like to meet with you.

--Experience--
I would like to know that your a valid graphics artist spriter. I know it's kind of a pidly thing to ask or gripe for, but I want to make sure. So if you would like to take this position please provide a link to your portfolio or to other games you've worked on. I'm not taking you on to DO the graphics for me. I'm asking you to be a critic/consultant.

-Closing thoughts-
Well, I hope thats everything and that I didn't scare people off. I will leave this position open for at least a week or two if interest is shown. There's a couple of people that I have in mind, but they're are probably busy on their own projects. Thank you for showing interest in this position, and remember if your interested leave your portfolio and e-mail(if you don't have an account here.

Hope to be working with you!

Well I would like to but there are two reasons I won't. First, it takes me a long time to make new graphics and they're umm... not the best. Also, I don't live in Illinois.

But Good Luck finding someone! It might also be helpful if you told us what your game was about.

I was thinking more of an in house critic. I don't need you to be at my location, thats silly. I was just trying to say that I'm in the central time zone, that's all. We'd be using this site's chat room to connect and the occasional email. Nor am I asking you to do my graphics, I would just like a little expert mentoring. Here's a couple of links to my online galleries. Just to show why I would like some extra help.

Mostly "catch as cat can" plus some odd works

In your position I would stick to getting work critiqued at Pixelation because amongst their members are some of the most talented pixel artists I've ever seen. I've lurked and posted on/off at the site (Pixelation) for around 7 years and I don't believe you'll find as many people in one place who would be willing to help you. The main focus here on TDC is kliking, and often people struggle as it is to finish graphics for their own games let alone do graphic work or help/"consult" for others.

It's that or Pixeljoint, though I don't actually visit PJ so I don't know if they have a forum for indepth critique and help, I think it's just a mass of galleries?

In any case, I've seen your posts/work here and on Pixelation and you are improving, so I would stick to it and let the masters at Pixelation guide you.

Thank you for posting. As jthongbai said, this post is closed. I hate forgetting things.
