Today I updated Firefox to 3.5. Three out of four times of visiting my TDC inbox it's crashed, when trying to open my latest mail. Anyone else using firefox get this problem?

I tried upgrading to FireFox 3.5 about a month or two ago and downgraded because it didn't support the Glasser extension I use to make the titlebar transparent with aero. I love how it seems like every time a program gets popular, give or take a few years, the updates just get bigger and bigger and start to completely screw up what we originally loved about the program.

Yep firefox has been useless for some time for me on numerous PC's. Especially where there is PDF's involved (tried adobe and foxit no use!), and reading PDF's is something I do extremely often (journals, datasheets etc) Not too sure why PDF's effect it, maybe its in conjunction with something else but other browsers dont have this problem.

I've got no problems with Firefox 3.5 but I know some people that are having a really hard time with it.

Right on the head.
Exactly why I destroyed bz 2 and started again with the old engine.

I keep getting random crashes, a lot. It's frustrating.

Firefox 3.5 freezes for a bit when I visit the mail page now - probably because there are like 700+ messages to load up, but I'm sure it was never as bad with the previous version of firefox. It's never crashed though, just frozen for a few seconds and then it's fine.
This is a signature. Have this one on me.

I'm on 2 as well, 3.5 froze my new mac book after it was stated for the first time, and I could figure out how to close it so I just took out the battery.
I went back to 2 and everything was fine!
it might have just been a dialog box or something open in the background though.

Why does it seem like most forum topics involving software problems, all seem to have at least one person who assumes that the operating system has anything to do with the problem. Especially since that assumption is usually proven wrong?

Very rarely does newer software crash because of the OS a person is using. I run XP, Ubuntu, Vista, and Mac OS. They all run open source software the same.
Some older software doesn't work on Vista but that's to be expected. Hopefully Microsoft fixes this with Windows 7 like they promised though.
And to be on topic: Firefox!
