After a long research and talking to game programming profesionals, i've came to the conclusion that jamagic is the best choice for game programming. The only problem is that it's been discontinuated because of lack of user support. Anyone tried jamagic? i figured this was a good place to ask since jamagic is a klik software and is as easy to use as mmf (if not more), although it's better for 3D games, you can make incredible stuff in 2D using the lastest technology in the market.

Yes, Jamagic was the all-time best game development software. I hear that in 2010 they're going to release Jamultimedia Magic Fusion 3, formerly known as MMF3D. I'll be picking it up.

Unfortunately not, and it's crap.
A lot of us were hoping it would be just like MMF, only in 3D - but it wasn't anything like that.
Jamagic wasn't really even a true Klik product at all - you had to learn "Jamascript" (I think that's what it was called - a scripting language anyway).

Hopefully clickteam have learned their lesson, and MMF3D will be much more user friendly - if and when it is eventually made (I'm confident it'll happen someday - I don't think they can keep turning out new 2D-only software and expect people to keep buying it).

I do believe Francois confirmed that MMF3D would happen eventually during the convention.

" I don't think they can keep turning out new 2D-only software and expect people to keep buying it). "

2D is still alive and thriving - especially on portable consoles. MMF is obviously "behind times" if you compare it to many of the 2d games coming out today, but there are still a TON of games using older technology that are great and make thousands and thousands of dollars.

Clickteam is doing a great job so far of expanding MMF2 to various platforms. The amount of features they have added to MMF2 are freaking astounding since it has been released. I'm sure they could churn out 2-d software for a good while without people losing interest since 2d still progresses today. Everyone starts somewhere, and 3-d usually is not the place. . .

BTW has anyone heard about the irrlicht object recently?

I think Dogzer is taking the piss; he knows full well that Jamagic was a failed Clickteam software.

Thanks for the information Circy. There is definitely no way we could have found the sarcasm contained within this thread without you.
