Just a bit of fun:
http://celebrity.myheritage.com/celebrity-collage

You can upload a photo of yourself, and it'll use sophisticated face recognition technology to tell you which celebrity you look most like - that's the theory anyway...
It's usually pretty good on age/gender/race, which is enough to impress me.

Apparently I most closely resemble Paul Walker (67% match), but then I'm also a 53% match with Kanye West - go figure

Using a slightly older picture, the closest matches were Barack Obama and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. The only other person I recognized on the list was Mel Gibson.

I question the quality of this specific application of this technology.

All I'm seeing when I click on that link is a download page for the MyHeritage IE toolbar, which I can then use to upload a photo and be told that I look like Oprah. I get redirected to the Japanese website, so that may have something to do with it. You didn't seriously download a toolbar from a website did you?

On face recognition, I just got the update for Picasa (which includes face recognition)and it's pretty incredible. Funnily, it's "recognising" the faces in the crowd from when I took photos at sports events. Some interesting reactions that I hadn't noticed before!
