Well the other day I was reading the stuff on my own profile. I have a lot of reviews, previews etc, and a lot of forum posts. I h'm not so active these days, but the old posts still remain. Now, looking back a few years, I was a bit of a twat. Maybe not a full twat, just very sarcastic sometimes. Check out my profile, my reviews, my forum posts. I was insulting, patronising, cynical, sarcastic. I was definitely a twat to Nuklear, although he made rubbish games back in the day, now he has matured and grown up.
Reading them back, I thought, what actually have I done? What games have I released that have made a difference? I know my Hand Game won GOTW, but that's not enough for the arrogance I showed back in the day. I oromised a zombie epic, which I ended up abandoning!
On the other hand, back then, it was a different atmosphere. We could insult weirdos, noobs, general idiots. It seemed right. Now-a-days it doesn't.
Anyway, who's still around from the old days? Who's been here longer than 5 years? Who remembers me still, and my contribution to the click world? Who remembers Circy, Ashman, Tigerworks etc? Are we still in the same generation, or do most people not know of this period?
Hmm... I was feeling abit self conscious about myself earlier today (and the day before, and the day before the day before...) about how n00bish I was. Looking at my old posts and threads I realized how absolutely stupid and retarded most of them were. I swear I posted about about 20+ times a day just because I was so excited about finding a community were there were actually other Klikers out there. Gee, fancy that! Oh, and I HATED constructed critisism; I practically bit anyone who gave me some unless I asked for it. Sheesh!
Needless to say, It's quite embarrassing. I just hope everyday that I am not, beyond my knowledge, a n00b.
But let's move on. Forget about the first impressions. It's perfectly fine to be ashamed of the past, but let's forget about it, and look at people as they are nowadays.
I'm one of the oldies. It doesn't make me feel warm and cosy inside like I thought it would. Yet I still visit regularly, but not nearly as often as I used to.
Whatever happened to Shadowcaster anyway? he just vanished one day and never came back. That was about 7 years ago! Actually what was he? Was he like Rikus ? Another TDC founder and top admin or something?
I've actually been around since the flamewars at Total Klik. I remember posting 10+ posts in a row in my own thread about my own game just so the icon would catch on fire and people would be fooled that my project was da s***!
I have had several 4-6 months "leaves" from the community (though not with the usual drama topic proclaiming it) resulting in my forgetting my passwords, that's why my profile doesn't tell the truth. I used to go about the name ONI and ONI777 I think it was.
Good times! Good times!
I believe I thought you were an ass Trevor. Ha ha!
i'm so glad that all evidence of my olden days forum conduct was removed from history long ago with the deletion of MSN game makers i dont even want to THINK about what a tool i was back then!

AsparagusTrevor - I seem to remember you at least knew what you were talking about, which is more than most.
To be honest, I still haven't actually contributed anything in the way of games yet, even after all these years.
Noone's gonna mention Phizzy then? (or is that a bann-able offense now?)
I definitely remember you, Trevor. We exchanged our fair share of banter, most of it Guinness-related. I'm in the same boat though - I used to patrol the forums here pretty much daily and now I don't go on much. Hell, I didn't post a single thing for like two years. You were always one of my favourite posters, though. There were the regulars - some of them are still around, others I haven't heard from for ages. I really miss the types like Radix (does he use a different name now, perhaps?) and basically anyone else that could hold an intelligent conversation that wasn't anal about staying on-topic. Man, some of our off-topic threads got so far out of hand that it came out the other side and into an entirely new realm of hilarity. Or maybe I was just more immature back then and laughed at simpler things.
Still, I have to say that there wasn't a lot of your cynicism that wasn't called for, at least to my memory. The klik community has matured enough to lose most of its douchebags, which might explain the lack of necessity to maintain the cynicism, although I'm sure there are more with every new generation that us older members will quickly dispel should the need arise.
I've been a member of this community for nearly eight years now. I don't plan on leaving any time soon - even if I do have my breaks. I never did hear what happened to Fallen Angel (apart from Hamish joining Moonpod), Tigerworks, Jannis, Dustin Gunn, Natomic, etc. I guess it all happened during my down-period. I see that Virtually Real still hasn't had a post since Super Stun 'n' Run.
[Edit]
PS. I remember you too, AndyUK! And naturally I remember Hayo too, I've pretty much watched his progression through the ranks to ultimately end up as one of the must-know klikkers. Wait... do they even still call us klikkers now?
