Okay. Basically I want to have smoke in my game. I have tried making a particle effect and failed miserably. I want there to be smoke coming from the Mothership as it gets damaged, and I would like for there to be a "vent" on the mother ship puffing steam every once and while. The smoke and steam should fade away after a couple of seconds. I would really like some help on this please.

Thanks,
-Rannug

Quite easy to achieve, made a little example in a couple of minutes, may or may not be what you were looking for

That looks really cool, I must say.

The key is additive blending! Though in this case, it still looks cool if you change it to semi-transparency.
