Okay, to start off, I know almost NOTHING about laptops, other than that they go places. But I need to start taking my work around with me so that I'll make more progress in a day, and that there'll be a higher chance of getting a game done. However, I need one that can run MMF2 HWA and is fairly priced.
My question is what laptop would you recommend? If you do have one, and it runs MMF2 HWA, please post what brand and model it is.
Thank you in advance!
Edit: Wording issue.

Any reasonably modern laptop will run MMF2 HWA without problem.
I have an ASUS netbook (don't remember the model number), which is obviously quite a bit cheaper than getting a "proper" laptop.
It runs MMF2 HWA fine (incl. all dx9 stuff) as well as all my other software (MS Office, PaintshopPro, CorelDraw, etc) and it plays high-quality movies too.
The only issue is the relatively low screen resolution - MMF2 has a lot of toolbars etc, that take up a lot of space - meaning the actual work area can get pretty cramped. You can of course, connect it to a high-resolution TV/monitor when one is available.

Splotches is pretty heavy with effects and alpha channels and stuff, but it runs fine on my sister's atom-based netbook! So what Sketchy says is true. Most, if not all, fairly modern laptops will do fine.
My thinkpad's 1024x768 is a bit cramped for MMF2, but doable. Go one step up and I think you'd be good.

Thanks for the tip! My dad just got a fairly priced Gateway today for the family, so I think that'll work.
Thanks for the replies, you two!
