I got it on sale for $10.00, and it's just fantastic all over. It's as hard, fun, addictive, and hilarious as heck.
Also, it has a Head Crab (Steam exclusive). That's awesome.
Anyone else give this one a go?

Have you ever played that game maker game called Jumper?
Looks pretty similar and Jumper was great fun while it lasted.

I wanted to make this thread! I just never got around to it...
I have it on Xbox 360 and the game is simply amazing. Worth all the praise it gets. Super difficult but not game-breakingly so, and the longer you play, the better you get, so you can go to older levels that used to be hard and breeze right through.
I have 100% in the first three worlds (although I haven't beat the minus world in chapter 3) and 76 bandages overall. I beat the light world and now I have to beat the dark world.
Incidentally Gamester, Ogmo (the main character from Jumper) is a playable character in this game.

Are you serious?
Was this worked on by the same guy that made Jumper or is it a homage?

It's an homage. See, this game is the sequel to the original flash game Meat Boy (available on Newgrounds, although Super Meat Boy plays much better than that game) and both games include characters from other games. For example, this game contains characters from other indie games. Spoiler Alert!!!The Xbox 360 version includes Spelunky from Spelunky, Gish from Gish, Tim from Braid, Alien Hominid from Alien Hominid, and more. All versions contain Ogmo from Jumper, Commander Video from the Bit.Trip series, Jill from Mighty Jill Off, Flywrench from Flywrench, and The Kid from I Wanna Be The Guy. End Spoiler Alert. Tommy asked each authoer for permission first (which is why Quote isn't in the PC version) and they all have their own abilities.
And no, the creators are two different people (although trolls love to accuse Team Meat of stealing the idea from Jumper.)

I watched my brother play a bit of this on his xbox. Outside of fan service what are the big plusses? I love twitch-platformers but I've played plenty already!

I actually haven't tried Jumper yet. Will add it to my list of games to play.
I think the big plusses for Super Meat Boy are, for starters, getting bandages which unlock more characters, all who possess unique abilities. Some of these characters with unique abilities allow the player to get more bandages that other characters couldn't. Furthermore, once you complete a level, you can watch and save the replays of your previous attempts all at once. This is a nice addition, especially when you finally complete a crazy hard level that you'd tried hundreds of times to pass. Further-furthermore, The game has clever level design, interesting bosses, and that distinct Newgrounds humour (which, in my opinion, is absolutely hilarious) on top of everything. FURTHER-further-furthermore, the music is some of the best I've heard in any single game.
Finally, Super Meat Boy just feels right, control-wise. Once you get the controls down, all that's left to do is learn each level's paths and form a strategy on how to get through it alive.
Like I said, it's a fantastic game all around. It's going to be even better once January 2011 comes around: A level editor for the PC version is the perfect touch.
Also, sorry Jon.
