Ok, lets post cool album artwork here (note: ARTWORK, no photos!)
Megadeth - Peace Sells... But Who's Buying and Rust in Peace
Ed Repka made these awesome apocalyptic album covers. The skeleton guy is called Vic Rattlehead and is the band's mascot. The first depicts the United Nations headquarters after a nuclear war. The second depicts Vic and the at-the-time world leaders in Hangar 18 with a cryogenically suspended alien.
Sabaton - Coat of Arms
If this looks Nazi to you, it's because the album has a WWII theme (except the last song, which is a tribute to the bands that inspired them) Artwork by Jobert Mello
Dio - Holy Diver and The Last in Line
The demon is called Murray. These were made by Randy Barrett (Holy Diver) and Barry Jackson (The Last in Line)
Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
Well, almost all Iron Maiden covers prior to The X Factor were great (The X Factor cover on the other hand is hideous) but my favourite is Somewhere in Time. There's an insane amount of details and references in there. Art by Derek Riggs.
Feel free to post your own favourites (again, ARTWORK not photos, I don't wanna see someone posting the bloody Nirvana baby...)
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
I like the artwork on Aerosmith's "Nine Lives" - not so much the cover itself, but the way each page is a zoomed-in view of part of the previous page, and it kind of loops infinitely - it's quite nifty.
Going to have to look through my cd collection to find some more...
