Can you toggle Layer visibility in game with an event?

Can you change a Layers transparency in game with an event?

Thanks!

Do you even try before you post these questions? Seriously.

Layers object can hide or show layers. Don't think it can do transparency.

I thought Layer visibility would be an option but I looked everywhere and it was nowhere. To me, it makes sense to have it under "Storyboard Controls" in the event editor.

I had never heard of the Layers object so thank you.

So it can't do transparency, maybe there is another object or method that can. One that you don't know about, so get off your high horse and you might learn something.

You can use hardware acceleration to apply an ink effect to the entire layer. Just go to the layer in the layer toolbar, go to the layer properties, and look at effect. Semi-transparency is in the Standard effects section (when you click to choose an effect). You can then use the Layer object to change the effect at runtime.

One more question. Sorry! For all my layers, the effect options are disabled? I'm using HWA.

In your application's runtime properties, you have to have the display mode set as either Direct3D 8 or Direct3D 9.

Oh I see! Thanks

But I need to run my game at full screen, and the "Change Resolution" and "Resize Display To Fill" options don't work for me in DIRECT3D.

For the original TGF, the "Display Properties" extension could change the screen resolution via an event.

Do you know of a MMF2 extension that can do this? I have 300 or so extensions and it seems none are capable.

The change resolution property should really work - I would think that it might be a problem with either your graphics card or the resolution of the game. Are you using a strange resolution?

I laughed, thanks.

I wouldn't have a problem if you made any form of effort before posting 22 new threads in the klik coding help section every single day. The Layers object is something that is standard with MMF, not an extension you have to hunt for. Even I know about the Layers object and I don't use extensions.

Nobody minds helping you, you just need to put forth a tiny bit more effort.
