It's utter bullshit and won't stand up for long.
The patent should never have been granted in the first place - Apple are about 20 years late by my reckoning: http://www.google.com/patents?id=7vKrAAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract#v=onepage&q&f=false (and I'll bet there are earlier examples than that)
One of these days there's going to be a very serious backlash against Apple...

This is an example of patents being used for the exact opposite of what they're meant to. It opposes innovation instead of supports it.

Yah, the patent system is all screwed up. I tried asking for opinions in the other thread a few weeks ago but it didn't get all that constructive
But honestly, that patent is dead wrong even by the faulty patent laws. You can show "prior art" by taking a picture of an Etch-a-Sketch -.-
