As the title says, i got my new video card. i removed all previous drivers from my ati card, uninstalled catalyst control center and all that good stuff but i cant seem to install drivers. when i look at devices and printers theres a big yellow exclamation mark next to "intel 82801 ICH7 Family PCI express root port -27D0" telling me that the device is not working properly. i am currently using the video card, so its obviously working, i just cant install drivers which is gonna be a big problem. i tried reinstalling the drivers for said device and they dont install correctly. when i try to install the drivers from the disc that came with the video card i get something like "there are no drivers for your current hardware configuration" so i tried to manually download the drivers from the nvidia site and had the same problem. anyone know whats going on? i tried to look for a bios update to see if that was the problem but i catn seem to find a bios update for my motherboard, and any site that seemed promising was either down or just wouldnt load.
I have
ecs Fsb800 duel ddr2 motherboard
4 gigs of ram
intel pentium D CPU 3.00ghz
Sparkle Nvidia Geforce Gt 240 1024mb

my previous video card was a
hd Radeon 4850 512mb

any help would be awesome. cuz as of right now i have no working video card :/

If it says it isn't working properly then:

- Uninstall that device

- Install your latest Chipset drivers for your mobo

- install video card with most up-to-date drivers from website.

Use device manager to get the PCI VEND and DEV numbers and then use this website to try and track some down:

http://www.pcidatabase.com/

hope it helps

What OS are you using? Also, can you provide the make and model of your mobo? The info you have provided is just the manufacturers name and its frontside bus speed!

this is the link on Nvidia's site for the XP driver:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-280.26-whql-driver.html

this is the link for the 32 bit windows 7 driver:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-32bit-280.26-whql-driver.html

and this is the link for the 64 bit windows 7 driver:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-280.26-whql-driver.html

Not sure if you have tried any of these or not

Lol well that explains why i cant find anything on it. it doesnt say anywhere on the mobo what it is, other than that. i dont have the box it came in, cuz its my stepdads old motherboard, and he doesnt know what it is either. guess im S.O.l? also, ive tried downloading the drivers directly from the site, and it says the same thing that there is no hardware compatible with those drivers.

Motherboards are pretty cheap, so I wouldn't say your SOL, just a little inconvenienced.
