Is this possible? I've never experimented with ink effects or any other sort of related things inside MMF2 before. I'm actually not sure where to find them, either. Below is an example of the sort of effect I'm trying to get with the background:

Can I somehow achieve this inside MMF2? Preferably a gradual blur, not just instant. Thanks for any help!

Looki's "Channel Blur" shader will do what you want.
You can find it inside "ShaderPack2.zip" here: http://clickteam.info/looki/Shaders/

btw: Awesome artwork you have there - I can't believe you're able to produce stuff like that, but couldn't draw a tree!

Oh, and while we're on the subject of pixel shaders, here's a neat "Saturation Mask" shader I just made for someone on the clickteam forums: http://sdrv.ms/Z8mqLU (just in case anyone's interested)

Thanks Sketchy! I've downloaded and shall have a look when I get on Windows. Although I'm fairly sure the extension won't be supported for iOS, and I'm hoping to stick to the limitations of that exporter. I'll check anyway, if all else fails, I can just darken out the screen with an active object.

Also thanks for the compliment - I'm actually quite happy with some of the pixel art in this scene, it's a shame it's all covered up here. I may request some critique here soon.
