Here's a blast from my past: my recital of an old Chinese folk tale:

I did this maybe in 2007 or 2008, using a hand-held digital dictaphone. The background music is from a friend of mine and musician, Newagehillbilly. He did a live performance in the arts non-profit I was running at the time, and I was so taken with the tune that I wanted to use it in some other creative way. Even with the limited means I had at the time, I think it still turned out half-decent.

The person who recorded the audio is Jeff Mewbourn, known as "The Baltimore Taper." He taped literally hundreds of local shows each year, and was a huge boon to the underground arts and local music scene at the time.
