Does any1 know a program (if possible free) which you can create 3d looking pictures like the Fishheads, last ressurections example.
All i want is too make 3d looking pictures, not animations, so NO of that 3d studio max which is about £100-£700. Please help me.

Maya is the software used to make most of todays motion pictures including Spider-Man, Star Wars, The Matrix, Ice Age, Monsters Inc, and so on. You can download and use it for free for non-commercial use at www.aliaswavefront.com

I personally use Cinema4d XL r7. I have the full version, which is £1300 approx, but you can download the demo for free. Although the demo is unlimitted time-wise, you are not allowed to save. However, if you click to render your image, when it finishes rendering you get an ugly logo appear. Click to render again, and as it is rendering it will draw over the logo again. Whilst this is happening, you press print screen, and hey presto! You've got your 3d image with no horrid logo, and no debt of £1300.

I do 99% of my 3d in TrueSpace too dude! its easy peasy.

Most my stuffs modelled in it and TS 5 (3 and above with plugins) can do lipsync on meshes if you buy the plugin.

there's a free, bare-bones version of 3D Studio MAX called Gmax, I haven't used it though so I don't know what's in there and what isn't. It's here: http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/
