Is it possible to have a midi play through a series of screen without having it start over at every new screen?

If you download the TGF Manual from Clickteam they should tell you how to use it.
Best option: get MMF 1.5 and fix a lot more problems that TGF has.

If u r usin TGF then use the MCI. On MMF you just have to set the 'play samples over frames' option to enabled. (alot easier than usin MCI methinks)
