PS2 vs XBox? Depends on your gaming style. PS2's mostly for light gamers compared to the XBox. PS2's got more racing simulations. And PS2 is more fun for offline multiplayer play, though XBox is the master of online multiplayer play. Graphically, the box is better. However, I've heard that the GameCube is the most fun of all of em even if the games are a bit... wierd. But IMHO, consoles are lesser versions of PCs, so I'd say, get a PC . IMHO, the good thing about a console is that you can play with friends in the same room as you. So, I'd go for the PS2. Good games? Get a multiplayer racing one(tons of em), Quake, WWE Smackdown, or Tekken.

As for laptops vs desktops, I'd go for desktops. Depends whether you need the portability. Besides, a desktop for the same power as a laptop is much cheaper. And much easier to fix/build as well. If you need to transfer lotsa big files to your friend's house or something, get a USB drive...

Gamecube is terribly under rated over here. You have classics like Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Super Monkey Balls 1 and 2. The first is better though. Burnout 2 is a stunner, as is Super Smash Bros Melee.

PS2: You have GTA 3 and Vice City, Hitman, Half Life, Quake 3 Revolution, WWE Smackdown, Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy 10 (the best version after number 7 in my opinion)

X-box is basically a PC. Apart from Halo, you might as well get yourself a PC. Although you wouldnt be posting here if you didnt have one

gamewack needs any computer that allows him to see whether capslock is on or not. x)

i personally believe PS2 is the best, mainly because of the games circy listed(espescially vice city). i am partial to halo on the xbox (espescially when you're playing it 8 player), but the controller lets the other games down (it seems as if the box was designed around halo and not vice versa). and, it is fundamentally just a PC. even the graphics card is a variation on an Nvidia PC card (i forget which one). i hate the cube, the controller is awful, the games likewise. it's a kiddy console and i want adult games.

as for laptops vs desktops, i'd say desktops. if you sit on one you don't break it, and you cant drop a desktop down a drain.

fin.

Ps2 or Xbox: Ps2 (Arf, if he wants to know if ps2 or xbox is better don't say gamecube retard)

Gamecube is good, cause its got the el classico's like Mario Sunshine, Wind waker, Animal Crossing (it looks retarded but it is somehow fun) I think that the order of best systems is

1.Ps2
2.Gamecube
3.Xbox

Xbox is like a system for ppl how have shit computers and don't wanna upgrade them. Because almost all the games came out for pc (Halo comes out for pc soon with online play wooooot). Ps2 always brings a variety of good games, and is really the only system that has good rpgs.

Laptop or Desktop: Uhhh... I guess it depends on your needs really....

Pete, I'm mildly interested that you perceive Gamecube as "a kiddy console". What about it is "kiddy"?

Crono, I'm actually not interested in being insulted, sorry.

Ok, I'm going to explain something, it is impossible for a system to have good gameplay, gameplay is not a fuction of the system, but just the game made for the system. For example, I could make an FPS where there was a two second delay between pressing a button and the action being performed, it wouldn't be the systems fault, it would be my games fault for the crappy gameplay. Same thing with graphics, granted there are some games that look spectacular (Metroid Prime) and ones that look awful (Cubivore) but it's not the systems fault, it's the designers fault. To make it easier, picture TGF or MMF as a game system, it just runs what you tell it to, if you can't make good graphics who are you going to blame, Clickteam? I think not.

ps2 or xflop,

I like the gamecube , but i have a ps2 too, i would never buy a the xflop, i hate microsh*t.

I shall go into detail:

PS2: around 300 megahertz cpu, based on the board 7 arcade machine.

Good un’s: lots of games such as the GTA but the PC versions are FAR superior graphically. It can also play dvd’s. Snes based pad.

Bad un’s: Graphical power, its got none X-),

X-box:

Good uns: around 700 megahertz cpu, an geforce 3 (wow! an old graphics card…) an pathetically small hard drive. Storm sound processor as well. Halo (I played a few levels at my mates house, two player co-op and I found it boring, the graphics didn’t impress me either)

Bad uns: Ye olde PC bus architecture gives waste to 700 megs, yes the x box aint that powerful folks, and its been proven. The gamecube has shown more power in tests due to cell processors architecture.

Gamecube:

Good uns: 500 meg cpu, Ati (a real graphics card manufacturer) CPU using cell architecture. IBM helped develope the motherboard using far superior architecture than any console or pc today, very very efficient.
Qaulity games such as Mario Sunshine, who cares if its kiddyish when its DAMN good!. An superb controller by Shigsy, its fits the hand perfectly.

Bad uns: Acclaimed not to have many adult games by Sony lovers, they are obviously biased, or else they would have seen die hard vendetta and the best series of Resident Evil . Badly underrated as Circy said due to biased edjiots in the press.

So in order:

1. Gamecube/PS2
2. X-box.
